Hair Rejuvenation with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Hair Nutraceuticals
Hair thinning and early hair loss are often progressive conditions, but they can frequently be slowed or improved with the right combination of in-office and at-home therapies. Our Hair Rejuvenation program uses Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections together with targeted hair nutraceuticals to support the scalp environment and hair follicle function.
What is PRP for hair?
Platelet-Rich Plasma is a concentration of your own platelets, obtained from a small blood draw. Platelets contain growth factors and signaling proteins that can help:
- Stimulate dormant or weakened hair follicles
- Support blood flow and nutrient delivery to the scalp
- Improve hair shaft thickness and overall hair density over time
How the treatment is performed
- Consultation and evaluation
We begin with a detailed consultation, review of your medical history, and scalp/hair assessment to determine if you are a good candidate. We may discuss lab work, medications, and other factors that can affect hair growth. - Blood draw and PRP preparation
A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm, similar to routine lab work.
The blood is then placed in a centrifuge, which spins it at high speed to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the red and white blood cells. The resulting PRP is then prepared in sterile syringes for injection. - Scalp preparation and injections
The scalp is cleansed, and a topical anesthetic or cooling may be used to improve comfort.
PRP is injected in small amounts across the areas of thinning or reduced density (such as the hairline, crown, or part line).
The procedure typically takes 30–60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. - Hair nutraceutical support
Alongside PRP, we recommend clinical-grade hair nutraceuticals (oral supplements) and topical products designed to:- Provide key vitamins, minerals, and botanicals that support hair growth
- Help address internal factors such as stress, nutrition, and hormonal influences
- Improve hair quality, strength, and shedding over time
What to expect after treatment
Immediately after PRP, you may notice:
- Mild redness, swelling, or sensitivity in the treated areas
- Occasional pinpoint bruising at injection sites
These effects are usually mild and resolve within a few days. Most patients can return to normal activities the same day, avoiding vigorous exercise, hot tubs, and harsh hair treatments for 24–48 hours as advised.
Treatment schedule and maintenance For best results, PRP for hair is performed as a series:
- Initial series: 3–4 treatments, typically spaced about 4–6 weeks apart
- Maintenance: 1 treatment every 6–12 months, depending on your response and degree of hair loss

Hair nutraceuticals are taken consistently during and after the PRP series to support ongoing hair health and help maintain results. Because hair grows in cycles, visible improvement is gradual. Many patients begin to notice:
- Reduced shedding within a few months
- Improved hair density, coverage, and thickness over 3–6 months and beyond
Who is a good candidate?
PRP with hair nutraceuticals is often best suited for:
- Men and women with early to moderate thinning or reduced density
- Individuals who want a non-surgical option to support hair growth
- Patients willing to commit to a series of treatments and ongoing maintenance
Results vary from person to person, and not all types of hair loss respond equally. During your consultation, we will discuss realistic expectations and whether PRP and nutraceuticals are appropriate for your specific pattern of hair loss.
